Introduction
This Payment & Refund Policy governs all financial transactions on Tpylo, including membership subscriptions, digital product purchases, and donations. We use Stripe and PayPal as our payment processors to ensure secure transactions.
By making any payment on Tpylo, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this policy. Please read carefully before completing any transaction.
Important: How Payments Work on Tpylo
Tpylo is a Marketplace Platform
Tpylo operates as a marketplace connecting Supporters with independent Creators. Tpylo is not a seller, merchant, or party to transactions between Supporters and Creators. We provide the technology platform that enables these transactions.
Direct Payment Model
All payments on Tpylo are processed directly to the Creator's connected payment account (Stripe or PayPal). Here's how it works:
- • When you pay $100, the money goes directly to the Creator's Stripe/PayPal account
- • Tpylo receives only a 5% platform fee, deducted automatically by Stripe/PayPal
- • The Creator receives the remaining amount (minus payment processor fees)
- • Tpylo never holds, stores, or controls your payment funds
Refund Responsibility
Because payments go directly to Creators, all refunds are processed from the Creator's connected payment account, not from Tpylo. When a refund is approved, Stripe or PayPal automatically deducts the refund amount from the Creator's account balance. Creators agree to this arrangement when they sign up for Tpylo.
1. Monthly Subscriptions
1.1 Subscription Terms
- Billing Cycle: Subscriptions are billed monthly on the anniversary of your subscription start date. For example, if you subscribe on the 15th, you will be billed on the 15th of each subsequent month.
- Automatic Renewal: All subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle unless canceled. You will be charged the current subscription price at renewal.
- Price Changes: Creators may change subscription prices. You will be notified of any price changes at least 7 days before your next billing cycle, and you may cancel before being charged the new price.
- Access Period: Your subscription benefits remain active until the end of your current paid period, even after cancellation.
1.2 Subscription Refund Policy
ALL SUBSCRIPTION PAYMENTS ARE FINAL AND NON-REFUNDABLE.
- No Prorated Refunds: We do not offer prorated or partial refunds for unused subscription time. When you cancel, you retain access until the end of your current billing period.
- Your Responsibility: You are responsible for managing your subscriptions and canceling before renewal if you no longer wish to continue.
- Billing Errors Only: The only exception is verified billing errors (e.g., duplicate charges). Contact us within 48 hours with proof of the error. Refunds for billing errors are processed from the Creator's account.
- Creator Account Issues: If a Creator's account becomes unavailable, you may cancel to prevent future charges. Past payments are not refundable as services were available at the time of payment.
1.3 How to Cancel Your Subscription
You can cancel your subscription at any time using one of these methods:
- Via Tpylo Dashboard: Go to your Dashboard → Subscriptions → Find the subscription → Click "Cancel Subscription"
- Via Stripe Customer Portal: Access your Stripe billing portal through the link in your subscription confirmation email or from your Tpylo account settings.
- Contact Support: Email us at billing@tpylo.com with your account email and the subscription you wish to cancel.
Important: Cancellation stops future automatic renewals. You will not be charged again, but you will retain access to subscription benefits until the end of your current paid period.
2. Digital Products
2.1 EU Consumer Rights (14-Day Cooling-Off Period)
In compliance with European Union consumer protection laws, customers in the EU have the right to cancel and receive a full refund within 14 days of purchase under certain conditions:
- Before Download/Access: If you have not downloaded or accessed the digital content, you are entitled to a full refund within 14 days of purchase.
- After Download/Access: By downloading or accessing digital content, you expressly consent to waive your 14-day withdrawal right. A clear notice is displayed before purchase.
- How to Request: Contact support@tpylo.com within 14 days with your order number and reason for cancellation.
2.2 General Refund Policy for Digital Products
🚫 No refunds after download — Digital products are non-refundable once accessed or downloaded.
This policy is clearly displayed on every product page before purchase. By completing your purchase, you acknowledge that:
- • Digital products cannot be "returned" like physical goods.
- • You have reviewed the product description, preview, and any available samples.
- • You understand the no-refund policy for downloaded content.
2.3 Exceptions — When Refunds Are Granted
Despite the general no-refund policy, we will issue refunds in the following circumstances:
- Defective Products: The file is corrupted, damaged, or cannot be opened with standard software.
- Not as Described: The product significantly differs from its description (e.g., wrong file format, missing promised content).
- Technical Issues: Platform errors prevented delivery or access to the purchased product.
- Duplicate Purchase: Accidental duplicate charges for the same product.
- Fraud: Unauthorized purchase made without your consent.
To request an exception refund, contact support@tpylo.com within 7 days of purchase with your order number and detailed explanation.
3. Donations & Tips
⚠️ ALL DONATIONS ARE FINAL — NO REFUNDS
By making a donation, you irrevocably agree that donations are voluntary gifts with absolutely no expectation of goods, services, or refunds.
- Definition of Donation: A donation on Tpylo is a voluntary, unconditional gift to support a Creator. It is not a payment for goods or services.
- No Goods or Services: Donations do not entitle you to any content, response, acknowledgment, or deliverable from the Creator. Any content provided is at the Creator's sole discretion.
- Immediate Transfer: Your donation is transferred directly and immediately to the Creator's connected payment account. Tpylo does not hold these funds.
- No Refunds Under Any Circumstance: Once submitted, donations cannot be refunded, reversed, or charged back for any reason, including but not limited to: change of mind, dissatisfaction with Creator's content, Creator becoming inactive, or account closure.
- Chargeback Consequences: Filing a chargeback or payment dispute for a legitimate donation you authorized constitutes fraud. Your Tpylo account will be permanently terminated, and we reserve the right to pursue legal action and report the fraudulent activity to relevant authorities.
- Fraud Exception: If your payment method was used without your authorization (stolen card), contact your bank immediately AND email fraud@tpylo.com with a police report or bank fraud investigation reference number.
4. Processing Fees on Refunds
When a refund is issued, it's important to understand how payment processing fees are handled:
Stripe Processing Fees
Stripe does not return the original processing fee when a refund is issued. For example, if a $10 transaction had a $0.59 Stripe fee (2.9% + $0.30), the Creator receives $9.41. Upon refund, the $0.59 fee is not returned.
PayPal Processing Fees
PayPal's refund fee policy varies by region. In most cases, PayPal retains a portion of the original fee. Check PayPal's current terms for specific details.
Platform Fee (5%)
Tpylo's 5% platform fee is fully refunded to the Creator when a refund is processed. We do not retain our fee on refunded transactions.
Refund Amount to Supporter
Supporters receive a full refund of their original payment amount. Processing fee losses are absorbed by the Creator, not the Supporter.
Example: Supporter pays $20 → Stripe fee $0.88 → Platform fee $1.00 → Creator receives $18.12. If refunded, Supporter gets full $20 back. Creator loses $0.88 (Stripe fee not returned).
5. Disputes & Complaints
5.1 How to Resolve Issues
If you have a payment-related issue, please follow these steps:
- Contact the Creator First: For product or content issues, reach out to the Creator directly through Tpylo messaging.
- Contact Tpylo Support: If the Creator doesn't respond within 48 hours or you cannot reach a resolution, email billing@tpylo.com.
- Provide Documentation: Include your order number, transaction ID, screenshots, and a detailed description of the issue.
- Wait for Review: Our team will review your case and respond within 3-5 business days.
5.2 Chargeback & Dispute Policy
⚠️ FRAUDULENT CHARGEBACKS WILL RESULT IN LEGAL ACTION
- Contact Us First (Required): Before disputing any charge with your bank or credit card company, you MUST contact billing@tpylo.com and allow 5 business days for resolution. Failure to do so may result in account termination.
- What Constitutes Fraud: Filing a chargeback or payment dispute for any transaction you authorized — including subscriptions, donations, or product purchases after receiving the service or content is considered fraud under applicable law.
- Consequences of Fraudulent Chargebacks:
- • Immediate and permanent termination of your Tpylo account
- • Collection of the disputed amount plus all associated fees
- • Reporting to fraud prevention databases used by payment processors
- • We reserve the right to pursue civil litigation for damages
- • Criminal referral to law enforcement where applicable
- Chargeback Fees: Payment processors charge $15-25 per chargeback. If you file an illegitimate chargeback, you agree to pay this fee plus any additional costs incurred by Tpylo in disputing the chargeback.
- Legitimate Fraud Claims: If your payment method was genuinely stolen, file a police report, contact your bank, and email fraud@tpylo.com with documentation. We will cooperate fully with legitimate fraud investigations.
5.3 Response Times
- Initial Response: Within 24-48 hours (business days)
- Investigation: 3-5 business days for standard cases
- Complex Cases: Up to 14 business days for cases requiring Creator cooperation
- Refund Processing: 5-10 business days after approval (depending on payment method)

- Dispute Resolution: Any dispute arising from this policy shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association.
- Class Action Waiver: You agree that any dispute resolution proceedings will be conducted only on an individual basis and not in a class, consolidated, or representative action.
- Severability: If any provision of this policy is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
